Severe Caterpillar internal test designed to simulate slipper socket wear seen in the field:
- Charge Oil Temperature – 100°C/Loop, Oil Temperature – 130°C
- 380 bars, 2200 RPM
The test with SAE 10W was terminated at 178 hours due to catastrophic failure caused by the slipper wear.
At 200 hours, the additive package of Cat HYDO Advanced 10 prevented the slipper socket wear observed with SAE 10W.
